"Being a longhaired guitarist, I hate the barbershop. My tresses are meant to flow, not to end up on the cutting room floor. Fairfield Circuitry has a Barbershop I am thoroughly enamoured with, though, because the only hairs that don't stay in place are the ones on the back of yer neck!
"Utilitarian to the extreme, this sleek little fuzz box provides beefy tone without the compressed "broken" sound of many digitized stomp boxes. There is a good amount of play on the Drive knob: You can get super-fuzzed just like Mudhoney or crack out whip-smart blues jams a la Stevie Ray Vaughan.
"Whether I'm cranking my Marshall JCM 900 through my Hiwatt 4X12 or soloing through my vintage Fender '75 through a stock Marshall 2X12, the rich, classic tone is as Sabbath or as Zep as it needs to be.
I'll still stay away from the hair salon but when I need to crank my distortion-laden tone to 11, I'll sit in a chair with the Barbershop any day of the week!"

"The sounds I get out of it are very clear and are essentially tonally similar to the sound I get when I turn my vibro champ to 10."
